"You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God..." Joel 2:26
Freezer cooking saves time by taking two days to shop and cook for an entire month or more, you are allowing more time to spend with your family by not having to decide on dinner, prepare dinner, and clean all the dishes.
Freezer cooking helps save money because you can buy food in bulk.
Freezer cooking brings more variety to your dinners because you can be creative in your meal planning once and then have a variety of meals in your freezer for those nights when you don't want to think about "What's for Dinner?"
Freezer cooking gives you more free time. By taking two days out of the month to do bulk shopping and cooking, you are freeing up many hours of planning, prep, cooking, and washing dishes throughout the week.
And no more once a week grocery trips!
I follow five steps when freezer cooking or a.k.a "Once a Month Cooking".
PLAN, SHOP, GET READY, COOK, STOCK FREEZER
Plan - Make dinner menus, grocery lists, etc.
Shop - Wholesale store, grocery store (one or more)
Get Ready - Organize groceries into meals
Cook - Cook all dinners and package in freezer bags and foil pans
Freeze! - Put all completed dinners in freezers
When all was completed, I had 36 meals in the freezer ready to be thawed and cooked at a moments notice and I didn't even have to wonder "What's for Dinner?"
There are plenty of books out there to explain the process of freezer cooking or "Once a Month Cooking". Who's ready to try?
